CO2 Laser Beam Splitters

Partial reflectors are used in laser cavities or outside the laser to split the beam. Generally, windows are used at 45° AOI outside the laser cavity and concave lenses are used at normal incidence inside the laser cavity. 

The polarization needs to be considered when specifying a beamsplitter otherwise the reflected and transmitted beams will not have the correct power.  Our special polarization insensitive coating eliminates polarization considerations by reflecting and transmitting equal amounts of both S and P polarization.  Circularly polarized beams are split evenly into two circularly polarized beams. 

Our 50% Polarization Insensitive Beam Splitter (pictured) is Optimized for 10.6um @ 45° AOI. Circularly polarized beams are split evenly into two circularly polarized beams.
